About Us

DURHAM STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES (DSTS) is responsible for the management and administration of all home to school transportation for students eligible for transportation, in accordance with the Transportation Policy of both the Durham District and the Durham Catholic District School Boards. Details can be found under the Policy section for both school boards.

How early do I have to be at the bus stop?clock image

Parents/guardians are responsible for getting their child to and waiting at their designated bus stop. Students should arrive at their designated stop 5 minutes before the bus arrival time. DSTS employees review all stopping locations to ensure they are safe, as well as, ensuring boarding practices are followed and safe driving takes place on the ride to and from school. News and Additional Information

     Student information, used for transportation purposes, is received electronically from schools. It is important that parents ensure the school has up-to-date information throughout the school year. If your daycare provider changes or you are moving, please remember to call your child's school with any changes. Please note Caregiver's addresses are accepted for elementary students only. School bus route changes take three (3) days to implement after the school database is updated. Please note that during September this process can take up to five (5) days.

     The DSTS automated telephone line provides 24 hour access to transportation information for students. The numbers to call are:
1-866-908-6578 or 905-666-6979

     To access information parents will need their child's birth date (YYYY/MM/DD) together with the OEN number or 9 digit student number. These numbers can be found on the child's report card.
