DURHAM STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES (DSTS) is responsible for the management and administration of all home to school transportation for students eligible for transportation, in accordance with the Transportation Policy of both the Durham District and the Durham Catholic District School Boards. Details can be found under the "Policy" section for both school boards.

Student information, used for transportation purposes, is received electronically from schools. It is important that parents ensure the school has up-to-date information throughout the school year. If your daycare provider changes or you are moving, please remember to call your child’s school with any changes. Please note Caregiver’s addresses are accepted for elementary students only. School bus route changes take three days to implement.

The DSTS automated telephone line provides access to transportation information for students.  The numbers to call are:

To access information parents will need their child’s birth date (YYYYMMDD) together with the OEN number or 9 digit student number.  These numbers can be found on the child’s report card.

School Bus Stopping

The Highway Traffic Act requires that all traffic stop when approaching from the front or overtaking from the rear of a school bus that is stopped with red signals flashing on the front and rear. Traffic must remain stopped until the red signal lights and stop arm are no longer flashing.  The law applies regardless of the speed limit. Failure to do so will result in the deduction of six demerit points plus a fine.
